Important Dates:

School offices are on limited operations/closed December 13th - January 1st
New Coug Orientation (for bachelor degree students only) is on January 3rd
International Student Tutorial (for all international students) is also on January 3rd
It is highly suggested that students arrive on January 2nd! If you arrive before then, you could end up in a challenging situation with offices being closed.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU SECURE HOUSING/ACCOMODATION BEFORE YOU ARRIVE TO CAMPUS. If you arrive without housing, you will need to pay at least $100 per night in a hotel until you secure long-term housing. Additionally, YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO FIND A HOTEL ROOM when you arrive due to the high volume of students and their families arriving at the same time for the start of the term. If you have questions of how to secure housing, please contact your new student coordinator.

As you go through the process of securing off-campus housing at WSU, please be sure to educate yourself on renting in the United States and at WSU. We highly suggest that you do not transfer any money or sign any contracts before you arrive to town. The best option is to be in contact with your leasing company as much as possible before your arrival, while making payments and signing contracts upon arrival.

Please carefully review the Campus Arrival Guide to make sure you are taking action once you arrive on campus.

→ Make sure you are arriving for International Student Tutorial and New Coug Orientation on time!

All international students must attend International Student Tutorial. Please find the date, time, and location of your tutorial on this webpage.
If you are coming to WSU for a bachelor’s degree, please make sure you are registered and arrive on time for New Coug Orientation. Academic English and Graduate Foundation Program students do not need to attend New Coug Orientation.

→ You are required to check in with SEVIS within your first week of being on campus. Failure to do so will result in the termination of your SEVIS record and could have a negative impact on your immigration status.

You are allowed to complete SEVIS check-in only after you have arrived on campus. Log onto myPassport.wsu.edu using your WSU username and password and complete the new student check-in.

→ Airport pickup staff will assist you in obtaining your Cougar Card immediately upon arrival so that you can enter your residence.

Your Cougar Card will allow you to access your housing, eat, and get around, once you arrive.

Airport pickup service to your housing/accommodation is available to students free of charge.

Spokane airport is 1.5 hours drive away from Pullman campus. Airport pickup service is only available during fall intakes in limited capacity. If you fly to Spokane, you will need to take a rideshare service such as Uber (~$200) or book a bus, which has limited trips per day.

WSU International Programs airport pickup is not available at the Spokane International Airport. Please either make your own arrangements to get from the airport to campus, or change you flight's final destination.
